The installation instructions are different for Android and iOS. The RFV is NOT installed from the AppStore or Google Play. It is installed directly from the web browser.
Installing RFV on Android
From your Chrome browser navigate to https://m.vessels.wcpfc.int. Once there, tap the three-dot overflow menu in the top right corner and select ‘Add to Home screen’. Confirm the name of the app and tap add.
Installing RFV on iOS
From the Safari browser navigate to https://m.vessels.wcpfc.int. Once there tap the share icon at the bottom of the browser, scroll down and tap ‘Add to Home Screen’. Confirm the name of the app and tap add.
When the app is opened for the first time it will start downloading the RFV data.
IMPORTANT:
You need to be online and have the database fully download before you can use the RFV offline. It will take around 10 minutes to synchronise data although this will depend on your internet connection.
The download occurs in two parts, the first part will download the vessel details. The second stage will download the first thumbnail photo for each vessel. This step will take some time to complete, however the RFV is useable before the photos complete their download.
