Manual Reporting Changes  

The VMS transmission manual reporting procedures have been changed from an email-based submission to a web-based approach. Previously manual reporting was submitted through the NAF email address NAF@wcpfc.int. As of April 2025, this method is no longer in use and submission through the NAF email address NAF@wcpfc.int will no longer be in use or accepted.  

VMS manual reporting will now be submitted through the online webpage at upload manual positions at https://vrst.reports.wcpfc.int.

NAF Format for Manual Reports: 

 

//TM//POS//SQ/nn//ID/ vvvvv//NA/vsl_name//LT/yy.yyyy//LG/xxx.xxxx//DA/yyyymmdd//TI/hhmm//ER// 

 

The following will be replaced in the string by actual values based on the following: 

  • nn is an arbitrary sequence number that can be ignored 

  • vvvvv is the Vessel VID uniquely identifying a vessel 

  • vsl_name is the name of a vessel and can be ignored 

  • yy.yyyy are the decimal degrees of latitude 

  • xxx.xxxx are the decimal degrees of longitude 

  • yyyymmdd is the date in the format identified - no separator 

  • hhmm is the time also in the format identified - no separator
