Zoom is the platform WCPFC has adopted for hosting meetings online.


Zoom provide a test meeting so you can join the test meeting to familiarise yourself with Zoom controls.


Although tablets and cell phones can be used for the meeting, a desktop or laptop is recommended. In addition, for better sound quality during the meeting, a headset with microphone is strongly recommended.


The Zoom meeting link sent to registrants is unique and allows one connection only. Sharing the link may result in access to the meeting being blocked.


Zoom invitations will be typically be sent approximately one week prior to the meeting start date irrespective of when the meeting registration occurred.


Joining a Meeting

Participants can attend the virtual meeting by clicking the Zoom link provided in the invitation email where they will be placed in the waiting room while their details are verified.


The Zoom meeting will be open 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.  It is recommended that all participants login to the meeting 15 minutes prior to the start of a meeting so it can start on schedule.  


In rare cases when starting Zoom, a participant may be requested to provide their name. In this situation please include the two or three letter CCM code followed by the first name and last name (e.g., FJ – John Doe). For other representatives of organizations, please use acronym for your organization (SPC, FFA, WCPFC) followed by the first and last name.  Participants who are not identifiable will not be admitted into the meeting.

Joining via Telephone

To participate in a Zoom meeting via telephone for audio a Participant ID is required. If a Participant ID is not provided, the connection cannot be identified.


We strongly suggest joining the meeting with a desktop client prior to dialing in to the meeting. From the Zoom client, click on the meeting information shield to obtain the Meeting ID, Passcode and Participant ID necessary to join via telephone.
