Access to the VMS Reporting Status Tool (VRST) is granted to users that have been assigned one of the following roles:

  • VMS Viewer
  • VMS Editor

VMS Viewer will have access to the VRST data including the current status of all vessels on the RFV plus the number of reports received by the Secretariat per day for the last 15 days  for the users CCM vessels only.

VMS Editor will have access to the VRST data that the VMS Viewer can access plus the Vessels Not Reporting tab that allows the user to provide an indication to the Secretariat why a vessel is not reporting ("out of convention area" or "in port")

Party Administrators can edit a users profile from the CCM Portal - User Management tab.

To edit a user profile:

  1. Find the user that you want to assign permissions to in the list of users.  Remember the list is only displaying active users, you can check if the user is inactive by changing the filter option at the top of the page to "No" and pressing Apply.
  2. Click on the "edit" link at the end of the row for the user you intend to grant access to
  3. Scroll down to the Roles section and enable the role by clicking on the checkbox next to either VMS Viewer or VMS Editor.
  4. Press Save to make the change take effect.

Now the user that has been assigned either of the VMS roles will be able to view VMS data.

For more information on the VMS Editor role and updating VMS Non Reporting Status see the helpdesk section on the VRST (coming soon).
